A perfect winter lawn!
Some people may state that winter (November-February) are not ideal times for turf laying, whereas Greenvale Turf Suppliers beg to differ.
With the weather being very wet at this time of year it is an ideal time to have a new lawn laid, no water needs to be applied to your grass, your turf will look astounding for summer, no mowing needs to be done until at least march and the grass has plenty of time to root and knit together. All your turf requires to grow in these cold months is a good, well nourished, base. A screened topsoil preferably compost-mixed, with minimal stone content. A well nourished black base soil is the perfect feed for your lawn in winter.
Below is our latest turf project this week:
40 sqm of the finest Emerald Turf was required to transform the lawn on Tuesday AM, 1000 Metres of lawn turf was freshly cut from our seeded acres early morning. 40 sqm palletised, 2 tonnes of the finest Pre-Turfing Soil was bagged, loaded and finally delivered first thing.
The landscapers at Durkin premier Landscapes were already on the project preparing the ground for the lawn transformation. The ground has to be level and rotivated thoroughly before any lawn soil or turf can be laid, an uneven ground can result in a very obscure garden!
The tonnes of pre-turfing soil is a sufficient amount for 40sqm and is applied to the ground to begin with. The topsoil is thoroughly raked through again for an even surface and prepared for the rolls of turf to be laid. The turf is then rolled out per square metre roll and evenly laid across the area.
