As the name suggests, gabion stone is the ideal material to use when filling gabion baskets. These affordable, easy to install wire mesh cages offer a range of domestic and commercial uses, including the construction of retaining walls and even coastal defences.
Our gabion stone bulk bags consist of 1000kg of large, natural stones sized between 75mm and 150mm, ideally suited to filling gabion baskets due to their aesthetic quality and angular nature, which offers excellent drainage and allows the stones to interlock. When using gabion panels, cheaper ballast can be used in the portion where the stone won’t be visible, and the more aesthetically pleasing gabion stone can fill the outward-facing portion of the basket.

We have had 7 tonne bags of gabion stone over the last month. The last order was 95% fine but we did notice some of the bags had 1/4 of soil in the bottom and the stones a little larger than [previous orders. On the whole this is a quality product but we will be checking the next order quality just to make sure the bag is 100% full of stone. Would highly recommend.
